Building upon the successes and lessons since the 2016 cycle, Illinois for Bernie plans to organize earlier and better than before in advance of 2020 to help ensure a stronger foundation and base for the national campaign’s arrival in the state as well as to ensure the grassroots have a seat at the table.

People’s Convention

Join hundreds of Bernie supporters from across the state as they converge for the 4 year anniversary of the first IL4B convention back in 2015. You will rally with a dynamic group of activists, participate in breakout groups that will be the impetus for later organizing work, and much more. Registration / check-in begins for early caucus meetings: 10:30am
Breakout #1 (by caucus): 11:00am-12:00pm

**Caucus meetings are where members of a specific constituency group will discuss voter outreach to that constituency group. We kindly ask that if you are not a part of a constituency group, that you refrain from attending that particular caucus meeting (i.e. if you are not a student or young person, don’t attend the Student/Youth Caucus meeting). Thank you!**

  • Labor Caucus – Salon A
  • LGBTQ Caucus – Plaza 2
  • Senior Caucus – Plaza 1
  • Student/Youth Caucus – Salons B-D (Ballroom)
  • Veterans Caucus – Salons B-D (Ballroom)
**OFFICIAL DOORS OPEN TIME / Regular registration begins: 11:30am** (only arrive earlier than this if you are attending the Labor, LGBTQ, Senior, Student or Veterans Caucus meetings)
**OFFICIAL EVENT START TIME: 12:00pm** (only those meeting in the 11:00am caucus meetings should arrive before 11:30am)

*these will be split into 6 separate breakout groups: CDs 1-3, CD4, CD5, CD6, CD7, CD8. Each breakout facilitator will hold up a corresponding sign so you know where to go!

Afterparty: 5:00-8:00pm – location will be released to convention attendees via email a couple days prior to the event. The venue is within a 10 minute drive of the Edward Hotel and is a 10 minute walk from the Rosemont Blue Line stop.
