Lynn Casey-Maher

Lynn Casey-Maher is relatively new to the political arena, becoming involved in 2016 during Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign via phone banking and social media. She marched and attended The People’s Convention that year in Philadelphia to provide support for Bernie and his delegates inside the DNC.

Lynn answered Bernie’s nationwide call-to-action to get involved. She became an activist, started attending political events, marches and protests. She has been a part of the Coalition for a Better Illinois Sixth, has served as President and now Vice President of Indivisible DuPage, and along with a group of other healthcare professionals, has given educational presentations on Medicare For All.

Lynn became an appointed precinct committee person in 2017, and was elected to that position in March of 2018. In May of 2018, she was elected Winfield Township Democratic Organization Chair. She has organized canvasses, fundraisers and other events that helped turn DuPage County blue. Lynn then decided to run for Community High School District 94 School Board and won the election on April 2, 2019, with the most votes out of all 5 candidates. Yes, canvassing does pay off!

Lynn, through Our Revolution, was recruited to attend the Chicago Unity Reform Commission meetings to talk to committee members, under the direction of Maggie Wunderly. Lynn is happy to be a part of Illinois For Bernie, and is looking forward to being even more involved with Bernie’s 2020 campaign!
